작품명 : The limitation of perception and The ego

나의 작업은 타인과 나의 괴리감에서 비롯하였다.뒤엉켜 있는 감정을 타인에게 설명하여, 함께 공감을 느끼려 노력했던 적이 있다.그때 내가 표현하려는 감정과 타인이 받아들이는 감정 사이에 괴리가 있다는 사실을 깨닫고, 그로 인해 자신의 감정을 완벽히 알고 같이 공감할 수 있는 존재는 결국 나를 제외한 스스로 외에는 없다는 것을 깨닫게 되었다.결국 우리가 언어, 표정, 혹은 다른 매체를 통하여 타인과 공감한다는 것은 기본적으로 그 한계를 갖고 시작한다. 또한, 이러한 사실이 있기에 , 나에게 좀 더 다양하고 효과적인 소통의 수단을 찾도록 이끈것 같다.이번작업 "인식의 한계 그리고 자아" 는 바로 내가 사고하는 방식을 확고하게 잡아준 작업일 뿐더러 그렇게 생각하도록 이끈 시작점이다.설치물의 큰 원은 그 속에 존재하는 수많은 매체들이 어느 방향으로든 자유롭게 퍼져나갈 수 있음을 상징한다. 6명의 인물은 모두 나의 가족 구성원이
다, 각각의 서로 마주보는 2명의 인물들은 얼굴 표정을 통하여 그들의 메세지를 전달한다, 그리고 등을 마주보고있는 개개인은 서로가 붙어있는 상태에서 표정으로 전달받은 이미지를 스스로가 제대로 인식하지 못하고 다른 감정을 전달한다.만약 당신이 이 글을 읽은 후에야 나의 작업을 이해하였다면 당신과 나 또한 인식의 한계 의사소통의 한계를 경헙한 것 이다.

The limitation of perception and The ego

The begining of my work comes from the moment when I feel that nobody have full sympathy with me.Someday, I had tried to share the bottom of my heart with others. However, I found that there is a permanent gap between a feelings that I want to
show and an understanding they accept. It means that I am the only one who has an insight into my mind.
There are lots of communication methods such as a speech, a body language, and many diverse media. Those measuresalways have a limitation of perception. Perhaps, this truth leads me to think about how can I share my emotions by using various media.
An installation, "The limitation of perception and The ego" is the very starting point which makes me believe in this way.
The circle means our circumstance which extends without cease in all direction. Also, each person in the picture are my family members who havethe most close relationship with me. In this work, you'll find that they are communicating by facing each other, having the same face look. However,unlike the two opposite persons, every single person who stands with his or her back can not interpret previous emotion. If you have understoodwhat I mean after read this statement, we already had experienced a lack of perception.
